about

the album presented here was assembled from roughly two hours worth of music, recorded live in concert at dechenhöhle iserlohn, a grotto in the south-west of germany's industrial heartland, the ruhr district. markus reuter was invited to join ['ramp] for the concert that was to take place on 26th october 2002 but had to cancel his performance at the very last minute due to other commitments.

originally supposed to be released officially on cd through ['ramp]'s doombient website and label, the release was ultimately scrapped because of the ever-growing obstacles which made operations extremely difficult between 2003 and 2005.

it was available as a digital download for a while before it disappeared in around 2012. this version here features the bonus track "entry music" which was playing in the background while the audience was entering the grotto.

some of the music turned out to be oppressive to an extent that quite a few people decided to walk out of the cave after the first set, never to be seen again.

Originally founded in the spring of 1996. The name refers to the Dutch word "de ramp" which means "disaster" or "catastrophe".

Between 1997 and 2003, ['ramp] released a string of albums and played a couple of concerts in the Netherlands, the UK, and Germany before Parsick went entirely solo in 2009.
