about

the music presented here was recorded during the earliest formative moments of ramp, after the band had regrouped in early 1997. the first couple of tracks were recorded during the second set of the first official ramp concert ever, held at the inselsaal in marl/germany on 29th august 1997.

the concert recording was spoilt by lots of glitches, and parts of it were believed to be lost for good until i retrieved a recording on cassette. luckily, i could assemble the majority of the concert from those fragments to restore at least vital parts of it.

the bonus tracks were recorded even earlier, namely during the very first session in july 1997 when ramp was joined not only by vocalist martina beine ("fantar" in arte) but also by stefan kraft who created the majority of odd rhythms and experimental sounds.

"first rehearsal" (previously unreleased) was the only track ever recorded with this lineup, "second rehearsal" is an alternative version of "generatorenkonflikte", originally released on "looking back in anger".
